GoLiveChat is built to empower businesses with self-hosted customer communication tools. We expect all users to use the platform responsibly, ethically, and in compliance with applicable laws. You are expected to use the Services in a manner consistent with the following principles:
- Lawful: Your use must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
- Honest: You must not use the Services to deceive, defraud, or mislead others.
- Respectful: You must not use the Services to harass, abuse, or harm others.
- Responsible: You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and through your GoLiveChat installation.
3. Prohibited Content
You may not use the Services to create, transmit, host, or distribute any content that:
- Is illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, libelous, or harassing;
- Contains, promotes, or facilitates child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that exploits minors;
- Is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit in nature when involving non-consenting parties;
- Promotes or incites violence, terrorism, or hate speech against individuals or groups;
- Infringes upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or publicity rights of others;
- Contains malware, viruses, ransomware, trojans, worms, or any other malicious or harmful code;

4. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Use the Services to send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or phishing communications;
- Use the Services to build or operate a competing product or service;
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any GoLiveChat system or network (excluding your own self-hosted instance);
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services, our servers, or our networks;
- Bypass, disable, or circumvent any security measures or access controls of the Services;
- Use any automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or collect data from our website in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- Violate the rights of others, including intellectual property, privacy, and contractual rights;
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise make the Software available to any third party without our express written authorization.
5. AI Usage Restrictions
GoLiveChat includes AI-powered features. When using AI capabilities, you agree to the following additional restrictions:
- You must not use AI features to generate content prohibited under Section 3 of this AUP;
- You must not use AI features to impersonate real individuals without their express consent;
- You must not use AI features to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on individuals without appropriate human review and safeguards;
- You must not use AI features in a manner intended to deceive users about the nature of their interaction (i.e., you should appropriately disclose when users are interacting with AI);
- You are responsible for reviewing and validating AI-generated responses before they reach your end users.
6. Data Processing & Privacy
While GoLiveChat is self-hosted and does not have access to data on your servers, you remain responsible for ensuring your use of the Software complies with applicable data protection and privacy laws. You must:
- Collect and process personal data only as permitted by law and with appropriate legal basis;
- Provide your end users with an appropriate privacy notice describing your data collection and processing practices;
- Implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data;
- Not use the Services to process personal data in a manner that would violate GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable privacy regulations.
7. Security Requirements
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GoLiveChat deployment. You must:
- Apply security patches and updates to your server operating system and GoLiveChat installation promptly;
- Configure appropriate firewall rules and network security measures;
- Use strong authentication credentials and secure them appropriately;
- Regularly back up your database and files;
- Monitor your instance for suspicious activity;
- Promptly report any security vulnerabilities you discover in the Software to GoLiveChat.
8. Enforcement
GoLiveChat reserves the right to investigate potential violations of this AUP. We may take any action we deem appropriate, including:
- Issuing a warning and requesting corrective action;
- Suspending or terminating your account;
- Revoking your license to use the Software;
- Removing or disabling access to content that violates this AUP;
- Reporting violations to law enforcement authorities where appropriate.
If your account is terminated for a violation of this AUP, you are not entitled to a refund of any fees paid.
